Prenatal & Pediatric Care

Gentle, specialized chiropractic care for expecting moms and kids.

Dr. Daniel Turner, DC · Updated June 2026

Quick answer

Prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care is gentle, specialized care designed for expecting mothers and children. It uses low-force, age-appropriate techniques to support comfort and well-being through pregnancy and childhood. At DT Chiropractic, our conservative, evidence-based team offers this care at our Canton, Cartersville, and Rome offices in North Georgia, with same- or next-day appointments available.

Chiropractic care is safe and beneficial for the whole family, including expecting mothers and children. Our doctors provide gentle, specialized care designed for these life stages, in a welcoming, low-pressure setting.

How does prenatal & pediatric care work?

For expecting moms, pregnancy shifts posture, weight, and pelvic alignment, which can lead to low-back, hip, and pelvic discomfort. Our team includes Webster Technique–trained care, a specific, gentle approach that optimizes pelvic balance during pregnancy. For children, adjustments are extremely gentle and tailored to their age and size; many parents bring their kids in for comfort, posture, and general wellness. Care for both is conservative, gentle, and always tailored to comfort.

Every prenatal and pediatric visit starts with a careful history and exam so care is appropriate and gentle. Techniques are low-force and comfortable, and we welcome questions at every step.

Frequently asked questions

Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?

Yes, prenatal chiropractic is gentle and widely used during pregnancy. Our Webster-trained care focuses on pelvic balance and comfort, with techniques and positioning adapted to each trimester. We always tailor care to you and your pregnancy.

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Yes. Adjustments for children are very gentle, far lighter than for adults, and tailored to their age and size. Many parents seek care for comfort, posture, and general wellness.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and gentle adjustment that addresses pelvic balance and surrounding soft tissue during pregnancy, which many mothers find supports comfort through pregnancy.

Care built for two very different patients

Prenatal and pediatric care share a philosophy, gentle, low-force, and honest about limits, but they are distinct skills. For expecting moms, our Webster-trained doctors use pregnancy-specific analysis and positioning, with cushioning that supports the belly at every stage; the focus is pelvic balance and relief of the back, hip, and pelvic pain that research shows affects up to half of pregnancies. For infants and children, techniques scale to the patient: fingertip pressure for babies, graduated gentle care for kids and teens, always with parents in the room.

The evidence and our honesty

A systematic review of chiropractic care for pregnancy-related low back pain found most patients improved, and safety reviews of pediatric manual care report that serious adverse events are rare with appropriately gentle technique. Just as important is what we do not claim: Webster is not a technique to turn breech babies, and we do not treat ear infections, colic, or other non-musculoskeletal childhood illness. We coordinate with your OB, midwife, and pediatrician, and we refer out whenever medical care is the right call.

We built full guides for both: see our prenatal chiropractic page for trimester-by-trimester detail and the research behind Webster-trained care, and our pediatric chiropractic page for age-by-age technique, safety evidence, and our honest scope with kids.
