From youth and high-school athletes to weekend warriors and competitive lifters — we treat the injury and the cause, so you recover faster and come back stronger. Seen today or tomorrow across Canton, Cartersville, and Rome.
A sports injury is not just about pain — it is about getting back to the activity you love without re-injuring yourself. At DT Chiropractic, we combine hands-on chiropractic care with soft-tissue therapy and progressive rehab to restore strength, mobility, and confidence. We treat what is hurting and the movement or overload that caused it, so the same injury does not keep sidelining you.
Our doctors have extensive experience with athletes of every level, and several are trained in Active Release Technique® (ART) — a soft-tissue method trusted across competitive sports. Whether you were hurt in a game, built up an overuse injury in training, or just cannot shake nagging pain, we will find the real source and build a plan around your sport and your goals.
Growing athletes in football, soccer, cheer, baseball, and track — treated gently and age-appropriately.
Recreational athletes and league players who want to keep moving without the nagging injuries.
Strength athletes dealing with the back, shoulder, and elbow demands of heavy, repetitive loading.
Rotational-sport athletes managing back, hip, shoulder, and elbow strain — and looking to play more comfortably.
Ankle, knee, and wrist sprains and muscle strains — the most common acute sports injuries. Early treatment limits swelling and speeds a safe return.
Impingement, rotator-cuff irritation, and overhead-throwing pain from baseball, swimming, tennis, and lifting.
Lateral and medial epicondylitis — overuse tendon pain on the outside or inside of the elbow from racquet sports, golf, and gripping.
Patellofemoral pain and IT-band syndrome — front-of-knee or outer-knee pain that flares with running, stairs, and squats.
Medial tibial stress from running and jumping sports. We address the mechanics and load that caused it, not just the pain.
Pulls and tightness common in sprinting, soccer, and field sports — treated to restore length, strength, and confidence.
Strains and disc irritation from deadlifts, squats, and rotational sports. We assess the spine and your movement pattern.
Contact-sport and collision neck strain. We restore motion and rule out anything that needs imaging.
Achilles, patellar, and other repetitive-load tendon injuries that nag because the underlying load and mechanics were never addressed.
In-depth guides on related conditions: neck & whiplash, lower back pain, shoulder & knee, herniated disc, and pinched nerve.
There is no single technique that fixes every athlete. We assess the injured area and the whole movement chain above and below it, then combine the tools that fit your case:
Hands-on work to release tight, scarred, or overloaded muscles and tendons and restore smooth, pain-free movement — a go-to for overuse injuries. We also use cupping and therapeutic massage to speed recovery.
Specific adjustments restore joint mechanics so the area moves and loads the way it should — important for the spine, but also the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles that take a beating in sport.
For lifting-related disc and nerve pain, non-surgical decompression gently relieves pressure so the area can settle and heal.
Hands-on care gets you out of pain; targeted rehab keeps you there. We rebuild strength and correct the mechanics that caused the injury, then use objective checkpoints — motion, strength, and pain-free load — to clear you to return safely.
Golf is a rotational sport that loads the low back, hips, lead shoulder, and elbow at high speed — which is why nagging golf injuries so often trace back to how the body moves, not just where it hurts. Our founder, Dr. Daniel Turner, is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) — the world’s leading authority on the relationship between the human body and the golf swing.
TPI calls this the Body-Swing Connection: physical limitations in your body — mobility, stability, and strength — change how you swing, and can lead to both lost distance and injury. Using that framework, we assess how your body actually moves, treat the injury at its source, and address the limitations behind it so you can play with less pain and more consistency.
Golf-performance and injury care with Dr. Turner is available at our Canton and Cartersville offices.
Some injuries need prompt, in-person evaluation before you continue. See a provider right away if you have:
If you suspect a fracture, dislocation, or head injury, seek urgent medical care first — then see us for rehabilitation and return-to-play.
Because you came in to get back to your sport, we treat you on your first visit — not just examine you and send you home. We start with a focused exam of the injury and your movement, make sure care is safe and on-target (and flag anything that needs imaging or a specialist), then begin treatment the same day. There is never a package to buy or a contract to sign — just effective care and a clear plan to get you back, in a relaxed setting.
For most muscle, joint, and soft-tissue injuries — sprains, strains, tendonitis, overuse pain — a chiropractor or sports-focused provider is an excellent first stop for a drug-free, hands-on approach. If you have a suspected fracture, a joint that looks deformed, severe swelling, an inability to bear weight, or a head injury, get urgent medical evaluation first, then come to us for rehab.
As soon as it is more than ordinary post-workout soreness — ideally within the first few days. Early care controls swelling, protects the tissue, and shortens recovery. Playing or training through a real injury is the most common reason a minor problem becomes a season-ending one. We offer same- or next-day appointments.
ART is a hands-on soft-tissue method that treats tight or scarred muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves by combining precise pressure with movement. It is widely used with athletes for overuse injuries and stubborn pain that has not responded to rest, and it pairs well with adjustments and rehab.
Return-to-play depends on the injury and how you respond to care — not just on how the pain feels. We use objective checkpoints (range of motion, strength, and pain-free movement under load) and build a graded plan so you come back ready, not just willing. Returning too early is the leading cause of re-injury.
Yes — we care for athletes of all ages and levels, from youth and high-school players to weekend warriors and competitive lifters. Care for younger athletes is gentle and tailored to their stage of growth, with parents involved throughout.
Many athletes use care between injuries to maintain mobility, address movement imbalances, and recover faster between sessions. We focus on the mechanics and tissue quality that let you train consistently — because consistent training, not heroic single workouts, is what drives performance.
Same- or next-day appointments across Canton, Cartersville, and Rome. No contracts, no pressure — just care that gets you back.
