Many people are concerned about their first visit. Whether you have been to a chiropractor before, or not, their can be a fair amount of anxiety associated with this event. As every chiropractic office is different, one’s experience will vary. At DT Chiropractic, we strive to make this experience as comfortable as possible.
The first part of your visit will include filling out paperwork. We need to know exactly what you have been experiencing, your familial history, your medical history, and other questions to figure out what is going on with your body. This process is extensive, and the length depends on your symptoms.
Once your paperwork is complete, you will have a thorough examination. We will go over all of your symptoms, and plan a course of care for the treatment of your symptoms. This process involves numerous musculoskeletal examinations, so we may pinpoint exactly what your problems are. X-rays may be taken, but only if needed. We do not believe in taking X-rays on every patient. This can create unnecessary and harmful radiation exposure.
Treatment takes place immediately following the examination. We do not believe in making anyone wait for treatment. If someone is in pain, we believe it is our duty to alleviate that pain as quickly and efficiently as possible. These treatments may include anything from deep tissue massage/muscle work, Active Release Technique, post-isometric relaxation stretching, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, distraction, rehabilitative exercises, and of course, the adjustments. Each treatment is specifically tailored to the individual. This is not a conveyor belt type of practice.
Follow-up care may be scheduled, following the appointment. We believe in a hassle-free, no-pressure atmosphere. There are no sales associated with our practice…ever. Each person’s body responds differently to care, and each person will have a specially tailored treatment plan. It is the patient’s responsibility to help their body heal fully.
